We hear about a lot of famous people’s business, people at work, local news, and our own business passed along to other people. However, we must look at ourselves and take care of home first. We should only be invested in our purpose and God’s kingdom business so we can make an impact on the world.
Start at home first and then spread the good news abroad. Let your lifestyle speak more than your words. Display the goodness of God.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 NIV: 11: Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
Do not be concerned about what the world is doing. The world is going to do what the world does because they do not belong to God. Focus on being the light and example to them. Let the Holy Spirit lead you on how to reel them in to the kingdom of God.
Matthew 5:16 NIV: 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 4:19: And He said to them, “Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.”
Ask God to search your heart and examine yourself daily.
Jeremiah 17:9-10: 9 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?10 But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”
1 Corinthians 9:27 CSB Version: 27 Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
Ask God for wisdom before you speak on something. Do not speak out of your emotions. God may want you to approach it differently. God is the all-knowing who sees what is on the inside.
James 1:19 Amlified: Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving].
James 1:5-7 NLT: 5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
Always lead with love.
Jeremiah 31:3 Amplified: The Lord appeared to me (Israel) from ages past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore, with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.
1 John 3:14 Amplified: We know that we have passed out of death into Life, because we love the brothers and sisters. He who does not love remains in [spiritual] death.
To be an effective witness, tend to your own business.
Testimony: My dad, who passed away recently, was a person about His Father’s business. He did not have time to be into other people’s business like my mom was. His ringtone is a song titled “Kingdom Business.” My dad witnessed to a lot of people. He listened to people and spoke to them according to what God was leading him to say. The lyrics to “Kingdom Business” say: “I’m going to handle my business, I’m going to be about my business, I’m going to handle this business, because it’s kingdom. I plan to live out what my dad taught me is the word of God and faith in Him. I will finish strong! I am about my business, which is my Father’s business.
Prayer: Thank you God for creating me for your purpose to glorify you. I seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things are added to me. God search my heart and uproot everything that is not like you. God I ask for wisdom of how to deal with people and every sitution in my life. I let my light shine more than the words I speak and people will see your good works and glorify you God. In Jesus name! Amen.
