You get back what you put out. Not only do you get it back, but it multiplies whether good or bad. It is time to evaluate and ask yourself: “The good things I desire, what am I giving to receive?” God loved us so much, according to John 3:16, that he gave His only Son to die for our sins and save us from eternal damnation. All we have to do is repent of our sins, believe with the heart, confess with our mouth, receive, and we are in the family of God. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, people are spreading the good news of Jesus and walking in their purpose with real freedom.
If God seems far away, spend quiet time being still and reading the word of God. God is the living word.
James 4:8 Easy Read Version: 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Be clean in the way that you live. Stop doing wrong things. Make your minds clean. You cannot love sin and love God at the same time.
Give to others, and God will reward you. It could be encouragement, time, money, serving, or prayer; that is part of giving.
Galatians 6:10: 10 So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers).
Proverbs 19:17 NIV: Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, And he will reward them for what they have done.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NIV: 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God can bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
Give time to the things of God more than the natural to operate in the power of God.
Galatians 6:8 9 Amplified: 8 For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.
Give love even when no one gives it to you. God is love. Faith works by love, and you can operate through the power of God.
Romans 12:21: 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Matthew 5:43-48 Message: 43-47 “You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the supple moves of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.48 “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.”
Be diligent in handling business and the things of God to reap a harvest. No matter what comes your way, stay committed to God.
Proverbs 6:8-11 Easy Read Version: Learn a lesson from the ants, you lazy person! See how hard they work. 7 They have no leader or ruler, 8 but they get their food during the summer. At the time of harvest, they store food to prepare for winter.9 But you, you lazy man, you lie in bed too long! Will you never get up to work? 10 You say, ‘I will have a short sleep. I will rest quietly for a while.’ 11 But while you sleep, you will suddenly become poor. You will have nothing, as if someone has robbed you.
Romans 12:11 KJV: Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 NLT: 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Hebrews 11:6 KJV: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Testimony: There have been some days when I spent more time on fleshy natural things than on the spiritual. Binge-watching a favorite show or listening to music. I repented to God and got back on track. I spent more time on spiritual things, such as reading the Word of God in my free time, rather than scrolling through the internet and watching a show. Because I sowed to the spirit God gave me the phrase for my blog, and God began to speak to me.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for giving us the greatest gift, your Son, Jesus. Thank you for loving me enough to redeem my soul from hell. I am created in your image and in your likeness. I choose to walk in love to draw people to you and operate in the power of your spirit living inside me. I repent of where I have been selfish, letting other people and things grab my attention more than the spiritual things. God, I ask you to help me in areas where I am weak. I stay consistent in spending time with God, I walk in love, give to the poor/others, and serve others. I reap my harvest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
