We all experience times in our lives marked by pain, disappointments, financial challenges, career and job difficulties, and relationship issues. The good news is, when we give it over to God, He restores. God not only restores, but He multiplies so much that it is as if it never happened.
Meditating the word of God will transform you into a different person where there is no trace of who you were anymore.
Romans 12:2: Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Galatians 2:20 Living Translation: 20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
We repent God wipes our slate clean and restores us.
1 John 1:9 Easy Read Version: 9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].
Acts 3:19-21: Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.
God gives you joy through suffering and restores as if it never happened.
Isaiah 61:3 Easy Read Version: Those in Zion who mourn. I will take away the ashes on their head, and I will give them a crown. I will take away their sadness, and I will give them the oil of happiness. I will take away their sorrow, and I will give them celebration clothes. He sent me to name them ‘Good Trees’ and ‘The Lord’s Wonderful Plant.’
This is after Joseph’s suffering was over from being sold into slavery by his brothers, thrown in prison due to a lie, and now he was promoted and married. Read Genesis 37-50 on the life of Joseph. Genesis 41:51 Amplified: Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh (causing to forget), for he said, “God has made me forget all my trouble and hardship and all [the sorrow of the loss of] my father’s household.”
This is after Job’s children died tragically, Job’s health failed him, and his wife told him to curse God and die. Job 42:12-17 Easy Read Version:10 Job prayed for his friends, and the Lord made Job successful again. The Lord gave him twice as much as he had before. 11 Then all his brothers and sisters and all the people who knew him before came to his house. They all ate a big meal with him. They comforted him and were sorry that the Lord had brought him so much trouble. Each person gave Job a piece of silver and a gold ring.12 The Lord blessed Job with even more than he had in the beginning. Job got 14,000 sheep, 6000 camels, 2000 oxen, and 1000 female donkeys. 13 He also got seven sons and three daughters. 14 He named the first daughter Jemimah and the second daughter Keziah. He named the third daughter Keren Happuch. 15 Job’s daughters were among the most beautiful women in all the country. And, like their brothers, they each got a share of their father’s property.16 So Job lived for 140 years more. He lived to see his children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, and his great-great-grandchildren. 17 Job lived to be a very old man who had lived a good, long life.
Testimony: God has transformed me since I have accepted Jesus into my life. During praise and worship at home God spoke to me to watch the movie “Esther.” After watching Esther, I was led by the Holy Spirit to fast. I went to sleep and God gave me a dream to go into freelance writing. I researched freelance writing and blog stood out to me. I asked the late Mrs. Nichols who advised me on writing what should I do the blog about? She asked me what are you passionate about? I told her I like to encourage people. She said well, that is what you will do the blog on. God led me to name it “Adams Family Inspirations” and to post it on Sundays. The phrases started coming and it was very catchy. One of my bloggers told me you should make merchandise with the phrases on them. I now have an online store. I have some repeat customers. God mulitiplied one seed. I am still going for 7 years and the phrases never run out because it is God in me doing the work. I am in awe that he chose me as a vessel to share the gospel through the blog. People wrote in comments that reading the blog stopped them from commiting suicide and other people have been blessed by it. To God be the glory.
Prayer: God, thank you for sending your Son Jesus to pay the penalty for my sin, pain, suffering, and poverty. I believe in your finished work. I receive what you have already done for me. I continue in your word so it can transform me into your image and likeness. I repent of any sin I have committed, and I thank you for wiping my slate clean. I give all my pain and sorrow over to you, and you restore me better than before. In Jesus’ name! Amen!
